Let’s get TECHnical

I would like to bring to your attention three awesome tech tools to use in your classroom; Gimkit, EdPuzzle, and Flipgrid.

Gimkit is Kahoot on steroids! If you are unfamiliar with Kahoot, it is a game platform where students can use a device of their choice to answer questions and compete for points. Typically I have used Kahoot as a review game. Gimkit takes this concept one step further; instead of gaining points, students gain in-game cash to spend on power-ups. These power-ups can be used to hinder your opponent or assist your gains by offering bonuses (more cash) for answering questions correctly. EdPuzzle is a great tool to use in order to hold students accountable for watching a video you want them to view. It allows you to stop the video at key points and ask important questions to reinforce the important content. Check out EdPuzzle by clicking here.

Flipgrid is a neat way to have students prove to you their knowledge! Instead of having students write down what they know, you can have them post a short video to a grid that allows you to see what they know and students can see what their peers know as well. Check out Flipgrid by clicking here.
